The Founder

Thobekile Buthelezi was born and bred in Kzn. She studied in Kzn and United Kingdom. She is experienced in both the private and public sector so and more than 10 years Ngo experience. She is passionate with creating peaceful conditions and sustainable livelihoods fostering physical mental social skills development and wellbeing for poor helpless and destitute youth in rural and peri urban communities.

Thobekile strives to inspire a deeper appreciation for African fashion among her stakeholders and customers. She celebrates heritage by sharing the rich stories behind each handcrafted piece and how they redefine contemporary fashion. Committed to sustainability and ethical production, she ensures that both her products and their creators reflect authenticity, cultural pride, and respect for the environment.

NZULU African Boutique is manned by a collective of rural and peri urban women artisans dedicated to crafting clothing and accessories with a traditional flare. Their mission is to preserve and promote African cultural heritage through traditional textiles patterns and craftsmanship thus fostering cultural Pride and identity within our communities.
